I received my copy of the Musings this afternoon. Featured the New Orleans regional. our Wisconsin Point and had a few questions to test your knowledge.

Dave,

I think the skeletal tower might have been shipped to South Fox Island on Lake Michigan when Sapelo Island Lighthouse was decommissioned in 1933.

Am I right? Dave, you probably remember that personally.

Why wasn't a new Orleans light used for the New Orleans regional. There are many lights in that area that would have been very appropreate. The Sapelo should have been left for a Savanna regional. Could it have been that the original plans was a regional in Georgia and was later changed.

It is great to see the forums exclusive on the Musings.

There was no plan for a Savannah area regional this year.

This is the second Musings in a row that I did not receive an e-mail link. Can someone send me a link so I can enjoy the info. Thanks in advance.

I was wondering the same thing-why Sapelo in GA
that's so far away from BOTH regional locations??

Maybe someone can EXPLAIN-don't think they have so far.

The decision as to regional and signing event pieces belongs to HL - you would have to ask them why. From a personal standpoint, I really don't think we, as collectors, should expect to have every decision made explained to us. I do know that there are a variety of factors that are taken into account.

Also, FWIW, check your profiles to see if you have allowed your email address to be displayed when someone clicks the sunglass icon. Unless someone knows your address and can respond to your request, there are just a very few of us who have the ability to dig into the attic to find member's email addresses. I have sent both Sandy and Jim a copy.

Dave,

Thanks for the link. BTW, what does FWIW mean?

Sandy

Forget it--for whatever it's worth. . . .

Good Tuesday Afternoon!

Re The selection of both the Regional and In Store Event Replicas; that is the responsibility of the Director of Product Development.

Dave H and I discuss where the Regionals are to be held!

If you go back to Musings there is a 2009 clue in the answers to the questions!

Sandy,

In an attempt to answer your question, I believe that FWIW means FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH .

Is that corrdct, Dave?

Bob,

The last sentence in my response spelled it out, too.

Sound like we won't see a Point Cabrillo replica till next year. That would be its 100 anniversary, unless there's another California light that's also 100 years old next year.

Isn't Alcatraz Island also 100 next year? At least the current tower - I know the station is older ...

Yes, Tony for one knows, I already knew the answer but then I used his clues to search the internet to see how hard it would be to find the answer.. The answer came up instantly!
