Nice picture...It looks good as my wallpaper...those that don't know how to do it, just right click the picture and click on "set as wallpaper."

I was just wondering about the ethics of posting it without giving credit to the photographer. I was under the impression that a person was supposed to obtain permission to use someone else's photos or if not they should be posted as a link.

Now I'm not picking on you George. If this photo is being passed around on emails I would imagine whoever started it was the one not giving credit? Unless you are saying that it was your friend who took it?

I would give credit if I knew who's photo it was, as it certainly deserves the praise. This came to me as an email/email/email/etc.... and I will try to track down its origin for reference here on the site. Will advise.

I concur with Mombo. Again, not picking on George.

Lighthouse Keepers (me) could be liable for the contents of the Forums with regard to copyright law violations.

If you find something on the Internet, it does not mean it is in the 'public domain'. It is best to provide a link to something you like on the net rather than copy an image and include the image directly into your post.

Another 'tribute' has been posted today and this is a link to a series of photographs from 9/11.

The linked-to item is admittedly a collection of photographs collected from newspaper sites on the Internet. Each of these images is copyrighted by the individual newspaper.

While the motive of providing a 'tribute' may be worthy, it just isn't legal, no matter how great the tragedy.

The Forum rule: post a link to anything you want. Include copy only if you wrote it; include an image only if you took it or have the permission of the person who took it.

This is an extremely beautiful photo, I wish that I could go see it, just to witness.
But I figured that I would post something kinda ironic since lately we've had a couple of WTC photo tribute on here. My dad has a book on responding to terrorism put out by the Department of Justice put out in August of 1997, witha drawing of the World Trade Center towers with a few other buildings of the Lower amnhattan skyline. I thought that it was quite ironic...
