I'm just curious as to how many people are driving to the Reunion and from how far? We're driving from Chicago and spending the week after lighthousing around the Chesapeake Bay and New Jersey. Anybody else driving a long distance? Who's driving the farthest and how many day's are you taking to get there? Who's going to have the sorest butt? Inquiring minds want to know!

LOL! I'm driving about an hour out of the way to a different airport to get a cheaper air fare. Does that count?

I'm driving about 80 miles. It will take just over an hour. I probably have one of the shortest trips.

We are driving from Cincinnati to Columbus Ohio for a much cheaper airline rate! Two hour drive, saving $600 for the three of us!

Sorry Sue, I'm nothing without my spell check. And no, driving to the airport doesn't count!

Lorna & I will be driving from my hometown of North Attleboro, Massachusetts. I'm not sure what the exact mileage is to Baltimore from here but I suspect it's about an eight hour drive.

We are driving from Holland MI. The car has been rented and the time to go is getting shorter. We can't leave earlier than Tuesday (10/2) due to job commitments. Long haul in a short time----BUT IT WILL BE WORTH IT!!!!!!!

Driving from Northern Indiana. Probably leave Early Monday, get to Gettysburg and brush up on my Civil War history (Becky's going to love that). Spend the night somewhere along the way and get into Baltimore early Tues. Probably take the tollroad/Turnpikes to bypass the cities and headaches.

I have room for 2 more if anyone is interested? Come on Mary, skip work a day early and drive down here to Bremen!

I may have the shortest trip. Just 25 miles due north. About 30 minutes door to door. I live just west of Annapolis.

Laurie may have the shortest drive. Fred Kuhlman, the Ancient Mariner, may have the longest. He's driving from San Jose by way of Kalamazoo to pick up his daughter.

Fred joined the chat tonight for a bit - says he's doing "OK".

Digger,

Don't I wish that Jeff and I could leave a day earlier and follow you and Becky to Baltimore, but my boss won't let me go any earlier. We are going to take the next week off after the reunion to go lighthousing before going back home. Jeff and I will be so ready for a vacation by then.

We hope to be arriving by boat. I keep my boat at a marina on Back River which is not far from the Inner harbor. According to my GPS it is only 6 miles from my slip to downtown, but to come out Back River into the bay then up the Patapsco River to the Inner Harbor is 22 miles. The trip will take a little over an hour.

I registered last October as a day attendee (I did not take a room at the Marriott). I planned on getting a slip at the Inner Harbor East Marina which is next to the Marriott. I called a couple of weeks ago to reserve a slip and was told that they are full that weekend because of the Fells Point Festival.
I will now have to get a slip at a marina farther away or just stay on my boat at my marina and drive in every day.
