Due to the scheduling change in the baseball season the Baltimore Orioles will finish out their season at home October 1st-6th, tickets are available for the Monday thru Friday games and the final game on Saturday is sold out. This is a chance to see Cal Ripkin, JR. playing in the last few games of his playing career.

for tickets if your interested

It sure is going to be a busy weekend in Baltimore besides the HL Reunion. As Mark said Cal Rikpin will play his final game on Sat. and the Baltimore Ravens will be playing Tenn. on Sunday. All of this is walking distance from the Inner Harbor.

Too bad HL didn't think about a surprise game for us 700+ collectors! Would have been fun.

Mark,

Are the Fightng Lightkeepers scheduled in Baltimore anytime around the Reunion? Perhaps some would enjoy attending one of their games..........

If you are a baseball fan (or just a sports fan), I would highly recommend attending an Orioles game. I've seen a fair share of baseball stadiums and Camden Yards is really something special. If you can fit it into your BUSY schedules, I would really recommend going. (And, I know this links back to another topic, but you CAN get crab cakes there at the stadium...)

Have fun, Everybody!!!! I'll be thinking of you...

Ouch ! Larry, hope you are referring to Baltimore .
But it really doesn't matter....I will enjoy being in the ballpark no matter who takes the field.

I'm afraid I won't be attending the game. Harbour Lights schedule is a busy one and I don't have an extra day there. Friday night was looking good and there are tickets still available through normal channels. Ebayers are paying even a premium for those. It pays to check things out. However, this is a Harbour Light weekend. I don't want to miss out on too much. I'll make another trip to Baltimore soon. Hopefully with someone special.

If we get to Baltimore early enough, I am thinking about the Wednesday game, the only thing holding me back from ordering tickets is my son Sean (age 3) he would lose interest before they yell Play Ball!, So If I can get the rest of the family to a hotel (with a pool) in time, I'll be going to Wednesday's game. John, if you want to e-mail me a number or location where you can be reached I'll contact you if I end up going.

My wife and I have two tickets for the 10/3 game. They are in section 284 (i think) which is the left field club seats.

For those coming in on 10/3 and looking for something to do on 10/4 before the reunion,
The Orioles offer tours of Camden Yards. We plan to check when we are at the game to see if tour tickets are avaialable for 10/4.

For those who have never been to OP@CY, you will be stunned at the beauty and the atmosphere. TV doesn't even do it justice. The team that plays there leaves a lot to be desired, but I think you will enjoy yourself nonetheless.

If you like fresh (you can watch them make them), soft pretzels, go out to the lower concourse on the first base side and visit Uncle Teddy's Pretzels under the escalator. Get the cinnamon pretzels. They are to die for.

If you have time, Camden Yards has tours several times a day on a daily basis. The tours are usually between 11 - 3. It takes approximately 1:15 - 1:30. The cost is $5 for adults. $4 for kids. The phone number is (410) 547-6234. It's automated but you can talk to somebody at the end of the message.

I am trying to talk Mike into going to one of the baseball games. Tickets are still available and it would be a great night out before the reunion. How close is the stadium to our hotel? Is it walking distance or do we have to take a taxi? Hope to see ya there

The Diamondbacks have 300 seats that sell for $1 each. Tickets go on sale an hour before game time and once you have your ticket, you are taken inside right away -- they don't want people to scalp those tickets.

Of course they are in the nosebleed seats in mid-center field. But at least you're in the ballpark.

thebigtuna,

The Marriott and OP@CY are on opposite sides of the Harbor. It depends on how much you like walking. My guess is it's a mile or more each way.

John,

Unfortunately, there are no bargains on Baltimore baseball. Unless you call $7.00 for Standing Room tickets a bargain. Peter Angelos (our idiot team owner) is out for every penny he can lay his grubby hands on.
