We've adopted a working rule when creating new pages for www.HarbourLights.com site regarding hyperlinks.

When a link on that page would take you to another site on the Internet, clicking on that link will open a NEW browser window. Depending on your browser and settings, that window may be a full screen one or a smaller window where you can see the previous window in the background. If your browser opens a full screen window, be aware that BEHIND this new window is the page at www.HarbourLights.com that you clicked. To return to HarbourLights.com - just close the other window.

Also, if the link at HarbourLights.com simply brings up a larger image of the thumbnail photo, that image is opened in a new window. When you've viewed the image, simply close the window and the original page is still there, it does not need to be reloaded.

(This later feature will be implemented on older pages in the future.)

By default, links within these Forums also open a new window.

Depending on the amout of RAM your computer has and the number of other programs you are running while viewing HarbourLights.com, you may run low on 'resources'. Simply close a program or image window.

At least with MS IE4.0, you can accomplish the same thing (open a link in a new window) by holding down the SHIFT key when clicking on a Hyperlink.
