Over the past 6 weeks, I've been going through www.HarbourLights.com making the 'look' more uniform.

Nobody seems to have missed the big banners on various pages; but each time someone loaded a page, our 'account' was charged for the download of these 25K images. So they have been eliminated which should also speed things up a bit.

The color bar on the left of the page is more-or-less an indication of the 'category' of the page. Web Site, Catalog, Harbour Lights, etc.

The product search was added a few weeks ago and a site search was added last week. You may find that if you search for a particular word, you may receive a page that is not otherwise available (usually an experiment that I was trying or an out-of-date page.) I'll try to weed those out soon.

I've redesigned the 'No Frames' Home Page so it is much more compact.

Although the frames choices are still all there:

For best viewing of the site, set your PC Display at 600 x 800. Most monitors can handle this resolution whether they are 14", 15" or 17".

And if you are still working with an out-of-date browser, why not update to the latest version? Both MS Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator are free.

I like all the subject categories on the
bottom of the page for a quick "go to".
The look is great - very user friendly.
Thanks for all your hard work - I have to
remember to update this page to "My
favorite places".

Hi John, ... I'm involved as a contributor on another bulletin board using the same software as this one. I notice their's has a feature that brings up a page 2 if the thread gets too long instead of having it all on page 1. Do you think that's a good idea?

Bob - That is an option to 'Page' longer threads.

But there is not an option to jump to the last page so you'd have to click "Next Page" 1-3 times just to see the newest post.

What's the other board you're working on? Lionel? COPS?

Hi John, ... The site belongs to the State Police Association of Massachusetts (SPAM my union). When you first bring up a thread you have the option of looking at page 1 or 2 if the posts are longer than one page. I haven't seen any next page icon.
