The Harbour Lights website is undergoing cosmetic, content and organization changes. The changes should be completed by the end of the month. In the meantime, you can see some of the new look and the organization change taking shape between now and then. www.HarbourLights.com I call attention to the new "Archives" -- a whole new site that will focus on the history and details for the avid collector. www.HarbourLightsArchives.com Most of the forms are NOT WORKING right now. As a "work-in-progress" you may see some notes in RED which are primarily notes to me about what needs to be fixed yet.

Sounds like a plan, John! The archive/history section ought to be very welcome by both new readers and us old-timers. Change is good and it will bring new life to the site. Bob

I'm lovin' it! I was getting tired of the old site a bit. It's great to know that the archives will be kept intact, too!
I really like that it looks freshened up, yet still keeps the uncluttered, clean sharp look of all the websites John has done. My only suggestion: Put the HL logo big and at the top. It's the thing that people recognise from the displays, brochures, and boxes, and it connects the HL sculptures and the HL website for them mentally immediately.
Nice work again, John!

I'm looking for some help to identify and list the various box inclusions that have happened over the years... Not the Certificates and tent cards and registration forms, but when booklets, postcards, stamps, coins, etc. have been included. Here\'s a thread from 1999 that started this (Of course those registration cards have changed a few times as HL changed addresses. If someone has different old ones and could scan and email them to me, I'd appreciate it.) Can someone either resurrect that or start a new one? Perhaps others can recall items and in which boxes they were included. I have some information on 'boxes' but need to update that. The latest boxes with the website URL in red, and special boxes created for SOL and Navesink. Was there a special box for Eddystone? Any others? I've got to get with Rod, the keeper of all things miscellaneous and mysterious Harbour Lights.

Is there anyone who wants to help with the seahorse locations for the archives? It's not current for the past few years. I believe I have some information for a few, but not all of those through new: http://www.harbourlightsarchives.com/seahorses/index.htm

I notice that you are missing the 2004 regional buttons. I have both, and if you want, I can photograph or scan them. I also have a lot of regional stuff that was given to me as a gift by another forum member (you know who you are....not sure if you wanted to be identified.). I could photograph some of it for you.

Thanks, Greg... but I do have it coming from another source. Didn't see your offer until too late. What is the "other stuff" you have?

You probably already know these, but:
1) The Collector's Society Members Only version of Hooper Strait, MD came with a Hereford Inlet, NJ thumbnail.
2) The Hereford Inlet, NJ Christmas (2000) piece came with a "Happy Holidays from Hereford Inlet Lighthouse" coin.
3) Eldred Rock, AK (HL #257) came with a postcard of itself.

Got it, Greg... I've got to check what I already have; that was a long list of things. Give me through the weekend. Then remind me.
I do have all the pins/buttons.
I appreciate your offer.

John,
St. Joseph (North Pier), MI had two different Cs of A. One was shipped with HL 183; the second was shipped with HL 400 (matched sets of 5 sculptures).
Split Rock, MN also had two different Cs of A. The first paragraph in one does not appear in the other.
La Jument, France (HL 192) had two different Cs of A--the second one corrected the description from a hexagonal tower to the correct octagonal tower.
Eddystone, England (HL 636) included a Commemorative Coin (Ten Years of Light). It was shipped in a special box--let me know if you would like to see a picture of the box.
Navesink, NJ (HL 200) had two Cs of A. The first stated there are ". . .two 53' brownstone structures, an octagonal column replacing the south tower, and a square one replacing the north." The revised C of A corrects that statement to "square south tower and octagonal north tower."
A booklet entitled Moving Hatteras--Relocating the Cape Hatteras Light Station to Safety was included with HL 632.
Colchester Reef, VT (HL 701) included a copy of the paperback book Life in the Colchester Reef Lighthouse.
White Shoal, MI (HL 704)had two Cs of A. the first one indicated the edition size would be 9,500; the second corrected that figure to 8,000.
The USPS 1989 series of lighthouse stamps featured American Shoal, FL, but incorrectly named it American Shoals. The stamp shows a Coast Guard cutter passing near the lighthouse in water that would be too shallow for such a vessel.

John,
Old Field Point, NY (HL 707) had a postcard-size insert of an 1885 photograph of lighthouse and background on Keepers.
