Just a reminder of the chance to win a Cape Elizabeth or Signature Series GLOW. You must be registered at www.HarbourLights.com to participate - but registering automatically gives you a chance to win too. To register, choose "Register" from the Home Page Menu.

For details, www.HarbourLights.com/win_elizabeth.htm

The secret number was picked by Kim and is sealed in a Mason jar on the porch at Funk and Wagnalls.... I mean, sealed in an envelope in her desk. Could be anything between 501 and 1000.

When we hit 1,000 registrations, we'll open the envelope. The person who registered as that secret number will win a Cape Elizabeth AND the first person who guessed the date that person registered (or the closest date without going over) also wins a Cape Elizabeth. And the 1,000th registrant wins their choice of a Signature Series Thomas Point or a Signature Series Tybee Island.

The Cape Elizabeth contest continues. And registration continues to grow at www.HarbourLights.com.

We opened on August 11 and reached 500 registrants after 12 days (August 23). Another 15 days have passed and we passed the 750 registration mark on Labor Day.

For details on the contest, www.harbourlights.com/win_elizabeth.htm

Please remember you are not guessing when the 1,000th Registrattion will take place, but rather when a mystery pre-selected number (501-1,000) takes. Pick a date from August 23rd - but the first person guessing the date wins. Sorry we're not publishing the previous guesses for this contest.

John, when this contest first started, as I recall, the space to put your guess in was a date field. I know that my guess had to be zero filled with one digit so that it would fit. Does this make it appear that it is a date and not a number?

Right Herb, a date is what is required in the form MM/DD/199X. Again, you're guessing when the mystery number registers.

I set it up that way rather than trying to guess when the 1,000th person registers so there is no incentive to register late in the contest. It's basically a chance.

Of course you've got to be registered to win and the contest ends when the 1,000th person registers. Only one guess per registrant.
