Harry is Bill & Nancy's son-in-law; the son of John Hine of David Winter Cottage fame; and is the art director at HL (I believe that is his title). If you went to a regional event, the sketch of Fort Tompkins was done by Harry. I also believe Harry designs the packaging for all your HLs, including all the creative ways he has come up with to ship the pieces with lots of attachments and "tender" appendages (like the SoL and Eddystone).

Harry is often picked on by BY, because Harry is British and speaks with a funny accent (tic). Harry is very interesting and fun to talk with. I think you will enjoy chatting with him.

Thanks for that info Dave.

I was wondering if he was related to John Hine. I had seen that name on the bottom of the one David Winter Cottage we have, and I read somewhere that Bill was once the U.S. sales rep for David Winter. I was figuring there was a connection somewhere.

By the way, does anyone know how many artists Y&A employs? It is remarkable that most pieces look basically alike, like one person sculpted them all. But I would have to believe that that would be impossible, what with the number of new pieces each year and the several year lead time for a piece.

Inquiring minds want to know....or do I need to come to the chat for the answers?

Larry,

I think you should file that one away and ask Harry on the chat on the 29th. I think we could get some interesting info on how HL produces a piece from start to finish at the chat.

It was great having Harry aboard for the chat. He was informative but didn't give away any secrets. He did give a few great hints though!

Every time that Harry seemed to reveal something, it was lost in his 'accent'. Harry's a trip to talk to, we all enjoyed his visit but his charming accent was lost in the keyboard.

this was my second live chat (i participated last Thursday also), and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I find that there is interest in what I have to say, Harry was entertaining and interesting, and I hope that many of his hints come to fruition.
