"Into The Straits". 16"x20" acrylic on canvas (I hope I'm not boring you with all these). This one was a request by a fellow Wacko and will be staying here in Indiana.

I would like to do some paintings of Lightships in action but I cannot find any good detailed pics on the web. Can anyone help? I am also planning on doing a "Lost Lighthouses" series, when I get caught up.

Digger,

Keep them coming. I bet that we'd like them, even if they don't have anything to do with lighthouses.

You have a great talent and we do appreciate your sharing it with us.

Digger that is a beautiful painting. I'd been staring at it for about 5 minutes totally speechless. I still don't know what to say (But I think I found the shovel )
You have a great talent. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Now, I wonder who that lucky Indiana Boatnerd is?

Digger any one who claims to be bored seeing your work has got to be just plain wacky.you have a magic touch in your fingers.your paintings are akin to those of Florida painter of lighthouses and other subjects Roger Bansemer.you should try something like his two books,Florida lighthouses and carolina and Georgia lights.then we could all really enjoy your work (art that is).when you decide to do a book put me down for one.Bill O'Brien oseabee

Digger, you do outstanding work. At first glance I thought I was looking at a photographic image vice a painting - such great detail. You don't have to worry about boring anyone on THIS forum!!

That is beautiful! In my younger days I called on Inland Steel in East Chicago for many years. I want a copy!!!!!! Growing up on Lake Michigan I saw many ore boats coming into the mills. I still work for a steel company and I would hang that in my family room in a minute. White Shoal is outstanding!

Great painting! Love that you included the Ryerson, it's kind of our adopted ship. It's stored up in Sturgeon Bay WI. We get to see it every trip up there.

Thanks everyone. I truly appreciate the nice compliments. I am still working on getting prints made. So far the cheapest printer so far quoted be $2,500 per painting for 150 prints. OUCH!! That price was for professional lithographs. For digitally produced prints the price was $1,500. OUCH again! I am currently checking into "Photo-prints" that might be far less expensive. I have made a connection with the company that does all the posters for Notre Dame Univ. and he has a process that will produce lithograph quality prints for hopefully far less greenbacks.

Next up...... Thomas Point.
