I don't think MP3 will work. Should be a .WAV file.

TO see how Tim has done this, check his posting and you can view the URL of the sound file.

Terry,

If I'm supposed to be hearing the Beatles Twist And Shout it's working.

Windows media player and Winamp support MP3 format though you need to have the file extension associated with your player - that's usually done during installation but other programs may overwrite it.

At the moment, I hear no sound from this page...

I'm not hearing anything and i get a message that the information that the plugin requires was not downloaded correctly.

Back to the drawing board.

The Beatles have turned into Natalie & Nat King Cole.

Works again for me.

Can you hear me now?

Yes I can!

I've posted this before, but here is how to do it.

1. Put your music file in your own file repository at your ISP. As with pictures, its not polite to link to other sites music without permission/attribution. Caution: music files tend to be large.

2. the code:

The '.mp3' is the file name extension and what causes the listener's music player to launch. For Windoze users typically this is the Windows Media Player, but does not have to be. The extension could also be '.wav' - that and MP3 are the most common.

The 'hidden=True' directive sez to hide the music player from the viewer. Without this directive the music will play, but the player will pop up on your screen. Takes the magic out of it. :-)
