I think the URL links must have a maximum character limit on the Forums. It seems to have inserted a space in "Girt" towards the end of your string, but if you try and edit the gap out, it puts it back in. I think this gap breaks up the string?

The "cut and paste" works fine though. A Sea Girt map with labeled location is the result.

Yesssssss!

The URL wants a space, so give it one! The trick is to put in a space
where you don't care if one exists or not. For this link, I put in a space
in front of the "S" in "Sea Girt".

In the URL it looks like:

I notice that the print map page also includes the latitude and longitude of the icon (lighthouse in this case)



This is something I've been trying to determine for a national lighthouse locating mapping idea. I was hoping that some publication or other would have the L+L information, but none yet that I have found.

With GPS receivers including some in autos (Hertz "Never-Lost" is fantastic!), being able to enter a destination by L+L would be great.

The MapBlast site is powered by an engine that uses L+L positions.

With this set-up you need to know the street address and the engine must be able to 'interpret' the address to locate the L+L. (could it find "Corner of Main and Maple"?) In the case of many lighthouses, the 'address' is a PO box or the address of the local preservation group. And you don't want to drive your GPS-equipped car to the Post Office Lobby.

The Sea Girt map above was generated using the corner of Beacon and Ocean. No street number. Still have trouble with lights in the boonies, though.

Haven't tried jumping to the print map screen yet. That's a project for another weekend.
