I took a look at your image, Steve...

1. No space permitted after [img] and the url.
2. For images, your url has to include the "http://"
3. No space permitted after the url and before the
4. You uploaded the files with names like "Ponham Rocks Lighthouse.jpg", but in the link, you referred to them as "Ponham_Rocks_Lighthouse.jpg" I renamed the one above with the underscores.

If you're aiming for an Avatar with the small image, it must be square at 75x75 pixels.

Hang in there.

Actually John, I was trying to remember how to post so I could post some of my vacation pics to my post as requested. Will they all show up as thumbnails?

You need to size them at 500 or so pixels on the longest side. The picture above is sized at 96 x 64 pixels. When you resize and save with a new name, do compress them (most software allows you to choose a level of compression for jpegs). This will keep the size down and make the thread load a little faster for those with dial-up connections. Use the mid-way choice and you should be fine.

You know how to resize, upload and display so lets see some of your Maine pictures! Don't forget there can be no spaces in your file names.

Ct & NH pictures are fine also. Just love to see pictures that different members of the forum take. Makes for some interesting reading on the forum.

Okay, we've tried the Sanpfish thing before; they don't let you resize as they want people to come in, learn of them, make purchases, start using them, etc., etc.. I can't transfer to Adobe and my other software has either expired and you now have to purchase, or my HP, which went away except for the basics after they bought Snapfish, is useless as when I save to a file, then download to HP to resize, it distorts!?! confused frown

I could always just link you to them without going through the "share with a friend" program, but don't know if you can access. I did that to another group and sent myself a copy and found I had to disable pop-up blocker to access the pics, but no one else told me if that worked for them. This was an "off-topic" subj. on there so I didn't pursue it. Any other suggestions, or try the links?? shocked

Steve,

What photo programs do you have on your computer? SOmeone here may be able to help you get them resized so that you can upload them to the forum. If not you maya want to email me a few and I will do it at my end.

I had HP and Adobe and Jasc Paint Shop. I didn't buy any of these, the trial of Jasc and Adobe said that they were trial and have expired, so I need to pay for the program now. HP came with the printer and a program came with my camera, but last time I looked, I could only see how to edit movies and add effects/titles. Can't remember the name of that but I'll try and find it again in a little while. I think other than paint, that's it.

Okay, I registered the Adobe and it freezes up saying that the files cannot be found in that location and won't let you do anything else!?! confused
