It seems any line written inside of angled-brackets will not show up. That is, a line of text starting with "<" and ending with ">" will not appear w/in a message.

So that disappearing trick works only if the whole line is between the brackets? Like this:
While if the brackets aren't the begining and ?
I don't know if Tim can get along with out those <> symbols. LOL.
Looks like it doesn't matter where the "<" and ">" appear whatever's in between is omitted from view. - but I can see the text when I edit the message.

It does require me to break my rather old habit of appending a pithy tag to my sig. It also provides a way for us send you SECRET MESSAGES to let you know WHAT WE REALLY THINK! :-)
Some BBS software supports 'private' messages - viewable by the sender and recipient and not by anyone else. Does this software have that feature John?
