Go to 'my profile', view/update profile. Scroll down to where the avatar choice is made. Click on select a different avatar which will open a new window. At the bottom of that page is 'use custom url'. Paste the entire link into that window, just as you have it to dispay the image (except without the image tags). Then click on 'set url' which should then cause the image to display at the top left of the avatar pagee. Click on 'select this avatar' (presuming it is the correct image) and it will close that window, take you back to the profile page.
Be sure to save the updates which will cause the avatar to now be the new one. You may have to close out of the forums and come back in to see the new avatar display.
You may be required to add some information to your profile to get it to save. Depending on how long you have been registered, I have changed some of what used to be optional fields to now be required fields. They are labeled with bold text. The reason this was done was to help quickly sort out the bad guys who appear to use automated forms to attempt to register for the forums. An invonvenience to some, but it is a really big help in trying to keep out the riff-raff.
BTW, Debbie, in your saving and naming process you somehow added an extra ".jpg" at the end of the name of the last image.

I'll fix it. I managed to get this one to work. I'll try the other one after I fix it.

Not sure how you got to this avatar you were experimenting with, Debbie, but the word 'avatars' was missing some letters in the link you were trying to set.

Glad you got it working. Not too difficult once you know the procedures.
One thing to keep in mind is to size your avatar image at 75x75 pixels from the start. You will maintain the best clarity that way. Any larger or smaller and the system will take it upon itself to make the adjustments by squeezing or stretching - and that isn't always pretty.
Nice image you are using. Was it taken sometime recently?

Thank you! Yes, I took it and several others last Saturday. I had planned on visiting Canna also, but we had a a slight problem with the toilet in our 5th wheel. Back in May, we took the three grandsons camping in Sturgeon Bay.( Door County Lighthouse Walk Weekend) Apparantly they used waaaay too much toilet paper...even though they were warned! We emptied before we left and our monitor showed tank empty. Saturday after we got back from Eagle Bluff, (wanted to change into pants-very chilly & windy)we could smell this stench from the bathroom. After doing some investigating-I discovered it was blocked from the toilet down to the opening into the holding tank. It took us about 2 hrs to get it unblocked and flushed out. The stench was horrible. After that whole ordeal and by the time our stomachs were back to normal...just out of time. Next time!

Come join us for the regional. Won't have a better chance to meet a bunch from the forums or to go lighthousing with a better group of people.

I want to and have my husband talked into it. Just not sure yet if he can get away from work. It would probably be just the dinner.
