I've been experimenting with a modeling program that combines a series of images into an interactive model. Here are a couple of examples: Bald Head Old St. Augustine To manually rotate the image, drag your mouse left or right across the image. The controls are a bit hard to see, but the left most pair of arrows control the spin. The next pair of arrows allow you to zoom in and back out. Each click on the left arrow in this pair zooms you in a bit. Each click on the right arrow in this pair zooms you back out a bit. Next is a slider control. Slide it left to slow down the rotation, slide it right to speed it up. Click on either the left most left-arrow or the right-arrow to start the rotation. Let me know what you think. That's wild John! Mine are spinning so fast that I'm starting to get dizzy! Feels like I'm on a roller coaster!

Yea, I've got to figure out if there's a way to set the initial spin rate. These models were made from 10 images each. I'm experimenting with a 20 image one. That might make the animation less jerking.

That is pretty cool. I like the controls options.

Here's another example - this one shows what happens when the item is not in the exact center of the turntable. Clam Shell Lens For some reason, this one doesn't seem to rotate automatically. You can still drag across the image. [This message has been edited by JChidester (edited 05-02-2002).] [This message has been edited by JChidester (edited 05-02-2002).]

John, if you double click the image, it goes into manual mode for rotation. If you then click on the leftmost arrows it returns to auto rotate (controled by the speedstick). I think this is great, and a 20 frame version would defintely help the aesthetics.
Great work again John!

I tried the Clam Shell Lens link and saw the lens rotate then the screen flashes totally black then back to the lens again. The concept of this type of display is really awesome! Bob

Here's a new one of Fort Tompkins NY. This one is made from 20 images instead of 10. Spring at Fort Tompkins NY [This message has been edited by JChidester (edited 05-04-2002).]

I took a look at Fort Tompkins and everytime in turns about 180 degrees, the screen turns black. Is that a problem on my end? Bob

I get the same black frames on the Clam Shell and Old St Augustine. It makes it difficult to see the figure.
Maybe some take longer to load, because the black frame is now gone when I look at these.
