In the last few weeks, I've noticed that several folks have accidentally entered duplicate posts. Myself included -- only once I even made three posts of the same thing. Sandy was nice enough to tell me about it.
And today I tried to post and nothing happened. Is it just the Fickle Finger of Fate? Or am I (we) doing someting wrong. Anyone else having this problem?

I had one a couple of weeks ago. It happened after I went in and edited the post. For some reason the site doubled the post. Some sort of little glitch or something. I wouldn't let it bother you too much.

You may have hit on the answer. As I remember, almost every time I double posted, I had edited the post.
But the clincher is the fact that my triple post resulted after I edited my post TWICE. And I'm positive about this fact.
Thank You!

Forget about my theory folks. Edited four times, and only the fourth posts appeared.
Any other ideas?

Bob M had one of those earlier today. I just delete one of them when I see two (or more)

The one time that I remember having a double post is the time I clicked on "Add Reply" and didn't think it took and then I clicked on it again within a few seconds. I will try that on this reply and see if that is it. If you see this as a double post then that is the problem. If not then another theory down the drain.

Bob M had one of those earlier today. I just delete one of them when I see two (or more) Thanks, JC! Bobo emailed me about my double post and when I went back to delete it, it was already gone. Everytime I post a reply, I usually read it to check for obvious spelling errors, etc. So when I originally posted it, I didn't see the double post. Maybe I just didn't scroll up high enough. I read just about every new topic or reply and I can't say I've seen any double posts lately. Bob

Another double post. This one is in 2005 Wacko Badge Voting Booth. There must be something wrong. So many people can't be so wrong.

Bob,
The double you just mentioned belongs to twobeacons. Something about how her computer works (or how she works?) causes the doubles. You ususally don't see them because I delete them when I do.
The double posting is normally caused by hitting the "add reply" button more than once. Sometimes your system is slow to respond, sometimes the Forum server is slow. You think the click didn't take, click it again and presto, two posts. I don't think it is an error with the software operation.
If you click "add reply", wait and it will post your response and take you back. If you do like I do, you then back out of the thread using the back arrow. Don't stop when you pass the posting window on your way back and think you didn't get posted.
You can also click on the link bar in the upper part of the window, but using it limits where you can go and I don't think it helps show where new posts are (my opinion and gut feeling, not necessarily correct{even though there is a lot of gut to support the gut feeling.....]).
