In trying to open these Fora at lunch time over the last couple of weeks, I noticed that page loading is very, very slow this time of day. Today while trying to open a thread in the 'Forum About These Forums' Forum (thread title: 'Registration Date?'), I twice received (after a long delay) the internet message:
Quote:
throttling

Description: throttling

What the heck is that? Anybody else get this?

Here's a few ways to help the throttling on your computer, Art...

(1) simply close the valve when enough fuel/air has been inserted.
(2) add an inert gas (exhaust) which does not take any part in the combustion, hence lowering the amount of fuel inserted.
(3) decrease the amount of fuel inserted without limiting the air intake which make the mixture leaner but still homogenous.
(4) reduces throttling since the supercharger controls the power above atmospheric pressure. Throttling is only needed at really low loads
(5) insert the fuel after the air intake. This gives a differentiated fuel/air mixture.

Hope that helps your computer out abit. Maybe you just need to burn off some of the carbon build-up in the hard drive

Throttling is also something you can do to your computer as you become frustrated in waiting for a page to load. I.E. I got so mad at my computer that I throttled it!!

Kinda like 8:00am when Corporate America opens their copy of Outlook to see the morning's E-mail. You can almost hear the T3's grunt.

Rod,

My machine is powered by plutonium. I think that Tim is closer to the cause. Todd's answer pretty accurately describes the effect.
