From one Wacko to another, I would like to say thank you !

It has been a great year here at the Harbour Lights web site and HL couldn't have made a better choice for their web master. From the early days on the AOL boards on to the Lighthouse keepers.com web site and boards to the Harbour Lights web site your hard work, knowledge and wisdom have enlightened and entertained many collectors.

I started collecting HL around the same time as John and we both found the AOL Lighthouse collectibles board about the same time. Shortly there after John figured out how to set up a chat room just for Harbour Light chats, and he began posting ideas about how collectors could pool their collecting tips, various secondary market prices from sellers and buyers helping both find a more stable price range in the secondary market and other great ideas,

And then he built the Harbour Lights Collectors Information Center, first on his free AOL web page and when he quickly out grew it he moved it to its own domain. From there he began setting up web pages for collectors to gather information to determine to cut off points in variations, paint changes, mold changes and lightning rods.
He put together a photograpic library of all of the pieces and variations and the photo gallerys and loads of information on each piece.

When AOL decided to limit the uses of the AOL Lighthouse collectibles board, John set up the collectors forums as we know them today for collectors to use to discuss, trade tips, share stories, buy and sell Harbour Lights and so much more.

Over the past couple years John has put in thousands of hours to build the web site we have today ( to the new collectors to the web site, John collected about 90% of the information independantly with help from other collectors to build the web site prior to rolling it into HarbourLights.com )

Thank you John,

Mark

So, lessee - thats about 15 messages a day. 2.6 of these are likely to come from Da Saint and about 1.2 of them from mr. big mouth here. Yikes - thats 25%. Glad we don't have word count numbers. LoL For goodness sake don't throw nuthin out - there's a sociology master's thesis in these forum messages, just waitin to be writ.

Interesting statistic. Since Web connections are asynchronous - once you get your page you're disconnected from the server - how much time must elapse between page requests for the server to consider you gone?

And Mark, thats a beautiful sentiment. Are the goats in and the plows ready to go? I think we're in for some snow.
