Are you susposed to log out after browsing the Forums? If you do then you have to go througt all the steps necessary to log back in. Is it OK to stay loged on, and just close the connection to the Forums by clicking the mouse on the X? Getting back on is then just as simple as clicking on my Harbour Lights Forum listing in my favorites.

I never log out of the Forum. I just click on the X and the next time I go to my favorites and click on the link for the forum, it takes just a minute to upload on my computer and then I'm ready to type. I have the forum logged onto my home computer and my work computer and I never log out either one! BJE

There is no need to log out as long as you are not sharing your computer with another person at work or whatever. If you remain logged in and walk away, the next user can post topics or replies using your name. Logging out prevents unauthorized messages in your absence. I do not log out at home, but I do at work. Bob

Bob, I don't want to start trouble, but are you saying there are untrustworthy people where you work? Dennis

He probably doesn't want everyone to know that he's playing on the internet instead of working!

Dennis,
Was the above message posted by you, or did you stay logged on at work?

You could trust any one of them with your life. On the other hand, we have had the instances of "cyber-terrorism" in the form of practical jokes when people forget to log out of certain bulletin boards (not here). I've never been a victim but I laughed like heck at some of jokes played on my co-workers. The rule is log out or prepare to be embarassed! Bob

Bob, Knowing where you work I couldn't resist that little comment. Bruce the answer to your question is yes. I never was the victim of "cyber-terrorism" at work (did not have a computer in the Tower at the Prison), but Prison guards have at least as warped a sense of humor as State Police Officers do. I was the giver and reciever of good-natured pranks. Dennis
