Is it my imagination or are the posts here on the Forums getting even more, far and few between?

It used to be that anytime I signed on to these forums, I could spend an hour or more just reading the new posts that had come in since I was on last. But lately (even more in the last few weeks) when I sign in there is only one or two new posts to read.

There are so many friendly names that I no-longer see posting here..... where are you???? We miss you! Please come back to see us, we want to hear from you!

Dave, I was wondering if the software still supported the chat room function? Maybe it's time to try a reunion chat to bring back some of our old friends and to introduce our new friends to HL style chat!

What we have here is a situation that has been coming on for a couple of years. We have old members getting tired of posting all the time and new members not wanting to post either because they feel they don't know enough to make an interesting post or they are afraid to post. Eventually the members that do post will give up in disgust and that is what is happening now. As a good example, Daniel made a great post in the Fog Signal Building about the FC on the 3rd of January and has not received even one response to his post. We are having between 600-625 visitors a day and maybe 10-12 posts a day. We are averaging 50-55 members a day and only 10-12 posts. Maybe we will not have to worry about selling the WP and funding the Forums because of the lack of interest that is being shown. I don't see how you can have as many visitors as we have and yet no one is interested enough to take the time to post.

Yes, I've been sporadic about posting in the past couple of months. Haven't been able to stop by and visit every day, and when I do, it's just time for a quick peruse. December is always extremely hectic for the website, as well is January with inventory and finishing up on the previous year's books. Not to mention, of course, the new HL's and other new products which we are putting together for the coming year.
Ok, that's my excuse, what's everybody else's? Don't be shy, tell us what you're up to!

Don't look at me. I post daily. I ask questions. I post facts and my opinion on things. I comment on the new releases. Share my wishes. Play trivia and limericks. Welcome new members. Read and comment on jokes.

Maybe I post too much ???

I try to check every day...don't post as often as I would like.
I've been busy with babysitting the grandsons, Christmas,my husband's billing for snowplowing, billing that I do for an attorney part-time, running errands for my neighbor lady that just returned home from having her leg amputated and can no longer drive...and if that isn't enough...my mother has been having health problems. That means taking her to the doctor, going over and monitoring her blood pressure, and doing all the things that she can't do.
I just don't have enough time in my day...so I try to post when I can.
Loon, you keep things interesting! smile

Not at all Loon! You keep on posting!

I was talking to those who do not post. We need more people (like you Loon), who not only look at this site..... but stop in to say hello!

Thank You to all those of you who do take a few minets to add your comments to any Forum.

My schedule has changed several times in the past year and every time it does, I seem to get out of the habit of posting. I just got a better schedule so maybe more this year.

That was software we 'rented' by the year, JJ. There should be some free type software. I know you can do conference calling (phone) on some sites for free. And you can create conferences on Skype.

Some of the Instant Messaging programs allow setting up group IMs.

Anybody use Twitter?

If we could get newbies to answer Rustyjax's welcoming questions, there would be no shortage of posts. Just saw that for the first time. biglaugh (Rusty, kissing a horse on the nose involves trust, all he has to do is toss his head an inch or two and you have a broken face. And yes I have, many times, but with care and discrimination.)

I don't see anything here about kissing any horse, that may be in another Welcoming. But I agree, if you answered all these questions. There would be plenty of posts to the forums!!! biglaugh biglaugh biglaugh
