Ohioans will now have a second lighthouse plate to choose from. Toledo Harbor Light will be featured on the newest plate. The article also notes that the existing Marblehead plate is the most popular of the Ohio specialty tags.

Here is an article about the light and the fact that it is now 100 years old.

Dave, that's great. The Virginia lighthouse tag is the most popular in the State. It has the Old and New Cape Henry and Assateague. Maybe one day there might be another onehere if they sell out the first one.

Excellent! We have had Marblehead tags on our vehicles for awhile, will have to grab a Toledo when we get our next vehicle. I left the front tags off my last Talon, so I kept one plate in unused condition for myself. Will have to do the same for Toledo.

Actually, Rod, you could put a Toledo on one car, leave the Marblehead on the other. It sounds as if this is not a replacement, but another choice.

Ohio lets you choose to not use your front tag?

Technically, you're supposed to. I have left the front off of 2 different vehicles for a total of 8 years now and have never been sited for it (even after a few speeding tickets in a couple different states).

Rod, I can't believe they don't make you have both plates on your vehicles! Must be more strict down here in the southern part of the state! I have a friend here that had the police on him a few times for not having the front plate on his car!

The new one looks nice, but I will probably keep my Marblehead plate on my truck. Maybe by November, when the new ones are due, I will change my mind!

I buy new ones each year and keep the old ones on the truck for a few more years. That way I still have my new ones to keep and to trade with others. For a small fee, it works out quite well to have extras that are still new!
