While at the Reunion, and during the WACKO meeting Thursday evening, I was totally surprised by the presentation of a very special painting by Digger that was commissioned by a group of WACKOs spearheaded by Jim Johnson (right)

The painting is of Ft. Gratiot Lighthouse in my old home-town of Port Huron MI.

These WACKOs were primarily the ones who attended the Chicago Exposition and Regional Event and who were able to stay at my friend's Club Quarters hotel.

Many many thanks to the contributors and to Steve for his excellent work. He told me he started and finished it on 9/11 - never expecting he could do it in one day.

He also said he thought it was his best lighthouse painting to date -- and I have to agree.

Again, my sincere thanks. It will have a place of honor in my home-office when it arrives.

(Hey, Steve -- where is it?)

John, Jim didn't tell you it was only yours for 3 days?

John,

There was a listing of a Port Huron painting on Ebay. Perhaps Digger is funding his covered bridge festival outing?

Actually, we were all more than pleased to contribute to the gift. After all, your arrangements for the hotel saved us a bunch, and helped make the Chicago outing all the fun that it was. The painting date matches your Hooper flag number, doesn't it?

Dave

Yep 9-11 on Hooper Strait MD and 9-11 on Digger's dated painting.

John,

It was truly a pleasure to be part of the group that is made up the so called wackos, who got together to commission this wonderful work of art that Digger created. The story behind this painting is incredible and the painting is gorgeous.

You work hard for all of the collectors. This was our way of saying thank you for all that you do for us.
