Interesting question....has anyone ever tried?? Probably not, since it requires an executable program that doesn't reside on this server or the 'net'

Seems to me he had the theme from "Gone With the Wind" playing in the background. Kinda remember the thread was dealing with north/south knd of things???

I'm sure there is a simple way to do it. I just don't know how. Many sites play music as you view them. I imagine there would be a link in the post that would have to be activated to produce the sound.

In html, you can play an audio file in the background using the embed tag. This would not require a link to be clicked in order for the audio to be played.

This is how you would do it:

< embed src="xxx.wav" >

src= the name of your file. Be sure to put the full path of the file (ex: http://....../xxx.wav)

For a little more detailed info try here: http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/geektalk/97/04/index4a.html

Hope this helps

I also remember hearing "Popeye the sailor man" a few years back! What happened to that? Also what about the sound of waves crashing on the shore? I don't think this was from a dream! I heard it in this website! Where did they go?

Modern technology! I declare! What a great thing to be in my office and hear fog horns, water lapping and bells!
