I've scanned a document and saved it as an Adobe Acrobat file. How do I link to it here in the forums?

You own the full version of Adobe Acrobat?

Why didn't you save it as a jpg?

Best bet is to create a link to it - rather than trying to import it as an image. Just as you would link to any other web page.

(You really expect me to know what all I've got here?)

(Beats me. If I did what would I do with it then?)

(How do I go about doing this?)

Most people have Adobe Acrobat READER which lets you read Acrobat files, but not create them. You need Adobe Acrobat -- the full program -- to actually create these files. Adobe Acrobat files end in ".pdf" for "portable document file".

If you own the full version of Acrobat, it appears on your computer as if it were another printer choice -- usually "adobe distiller".

If you are scanning a photo (as opposed to a document), then saving it as a .jpg file would result in a photo that most anyone can open and view. You can either "point" to it with a link or you can "insert" it into your message.

Here's an example of a LINK to a picture:

And here's the same image inserted into this message:

I tried printing this jpg file ad a pdf -- it came out as a bunch of squares -- kind of like the TV image of a secret witness.

Come on Sue - you know how to do this.

Thanks Mombo!
It's good to know that I'm not the only dummy here. I can't figure this out ether, and you asked some of the same questions that I was thinking.

Maybe it's just a Sue thing! laugh laugh laugh

Looking back over this thread to the beginning, I now see that Sue said she scanned a DOCUMENT and saved it as a PDF and wondered how to handle it.

Sure Sue knows how to post IMAGES - look at all the great pictures she's given us!! (And don't forget the so-so ones she blames on her son Bill.)

If you've got a PDF file, just link to it. Those who have Acrobat READER will be able to read it. You can just type a link -- no UBB or HTML code needed.
