...every once in a while, we just have to change the 'wallpaper' and do a makeover.
The photo is by Jenifer Selwa, Cruise Director of our Lighthouse Photography Forum.
(One of the benefits.) Thanks, Jen.
For those who've been around a while, how about a challenge to name the lightouses we've used in the past for our 'masthead'?

Photo credit - yours truly. I sure appreciate it when John and Dave let me use my images to share with all of you!
PS - No baby yet. I'm due Thursday, scheduled C-section for Friday, bur we're hoping this little boy shows up in the next couple days on his own!

Oops. Sorry Jen, I left off the credit -- but I added it back in and gave everyone a challenge in my original post.
Can you name the lighthouses we've used on the masthead in the past?

No problem, John. In case anyone doesn't recognize this light, it's Yaquina Head in Oregon. I took this on my 12-day Pacific Northwest trip this past April. I understand this light is closed for the summer and getting a new paint job to return it to it's original colors and daymarks. Here is a recent article about it: Facelift planned for Yaquina Head lighthouse This is one lighthouse this (at that time) 24 week pregnant lady HAD to climb. Here is a view of the stairs... And a view of the First Order lens, taken with my film camera and a super-wide 17mm lens...the only way I was going to fit it all in!

The past three days, we havn't been home much, so I havn't really had a chance to check the forums. I just logged on, flipped back to AOL to finish an email, and then was going to flip back to Firefox (the glory of Alt-Tab). I double took when I saw the new page!
It looks great! It brightens up the page. It's a shock after being used to the darker colours of the aurora!
Let me see if I can name the old photos...if I can't remember the lights, I can at least remember how the photos looked.
Backwards...
-Yaquina Head (now) -The pierhead lights with the aurora...I get my pierheads mixed up -The one in CA with the purple sunset -The pierhead with the blue sky (I think it was Gary Martin's photos back then) -Thomas Point....the only one I actually remember the name of.
Funny, I look at the pictures every day, but I never notice what light they are.

I like the brighter day time photo. Not that the night time photo wasn't nice, but it's always nice to see the sunlight and the light. Excellent choice on the pic! Bob

One question...I noticed that the "closed thread" indicators are still the same as the two-generations-ago design. We never redid them for the aurora header. There is a different icon for closed thread with new posts and closed thread without new posts. I tried to design some, but I couldn't figure out what font to use.
It's probably the OCD in me that goes crazy every time everything doesn't match...
