Until the UBB [img] tag is working correctly here's a tip on how to include an image in your message. Use HTML:

1. Use the HTML example shown below.

(img src="http://www.harbourlights.com/galleries/images/someimage.jpg" border=0 alt="")

Tip: hold down your left mouse button and swipe across the example exactly; press Ctrl-C to copy it; then Ctrl-V to paste it into your msg.

2. Replace the portion inside the quotes http://www. ... .jpg with the link to your image. Make sure your retain all the quote marks, etc.

3. Replace the parentheses (...) at the beginning and end of the HTML with angle brackets <...>

4. Please try to keep the size of the image small - about 100 or 200 pixels in the longest direction. Roughly not more than 1½-2 inches on a side.

Once the [img] tag is working OK, we can use it instead and this will make things a bit simpler. (But hey - carry enough of this HTML stuff around in your head, and before your know it you'll be applying for a Class C coder's license!)

Feel free to experiment below or in the Test forum.

Couple other notes on image posting and HTML.

1. Its generally considered bad form to post images from other web sites unless you have the OK from the site's Webmaster and/or image author. The Web's pretty neat, ain't it - enjoy it properly while it remains free and open.

2. If you're wondering about the HTML used to post an image, or for that matter what HTML is used to do anything on a web page, click your right mouse button while on the page. You should see a little pop-up menu with "View Source" among it selections. Select this option and a new window will open up showing the HTML used to display the page.
