And as you may have noticed, the new image of Bandon Oregon's Coquille River Lighhouse has been posted. This top vote getting image is by Sean Thompson, of South Carolina.

Thanks to Sean and all the photographers who contributed images for consideration. In December, we'll have another open call for images.

In your lighthouse travels during the next couple of months, be looking for these extreme wide angle images for our next call.

John, I would just use the Peggy's Cove image for the next change... Since it was a virtual tie a feel that it should be used also!!

Paul,

It will be used . Here's the rules John setup for the vote-

"Please vote on your choice from these four possible images to appear as the masthead for these Collector Forums.

Voting commences now and will end September 29. The image with the most votes will appear for the month of October, the second most votes will appear in November and the third most votes will appear in December.

The fourth image (with the fewest votes) will be eligible for consideration in a poll taking place in December to select images for the first three months of 2007.

In the event of ties, all four images will be used and I will decide the order for those that tied."

Sorry, but one month is way too short a time per image, it should be at least quarterly.. and I corrected my typo..

Paul,

Didn't even notice the typo. I tend to agree with you but John set up the rules for the vote.

I guess it's set up that way to include more images and individuals.

I guess I missed something you guys said. John did say that Peggy's Cove would go up in November, Sanibel in December and Pt. Judith would be included in the voting for the first quarter lights of 2007.

Although I agree that one month is not long enough for such beautiful pictures to have exposure, many CF members take fantastic pictures and monthly changes will allow more members the opportunity to be picked.

Sean, congratulations on the gorgeous shot!
Congrats to all others who participated, as well. We have a lot of winners on the CFs!

Will the Coquille image also be used on the new posts flag indicators? I have tried updating but still have the SOL indicators.

Bob,

I still have the SOL on mine. Maybe I have to close out and sign in again for it to happen.

Yes, they were! Are you going to rotate them by the order they finished John?

I still do not have the "New Post Indicators". I have the new Collectors Forums picture of Coquille but not the new indicators. I'm still looking at the SOL even though I have logged out and logged back in and have refreshed the "new post indicators" in my profile. What is going on?

I now have the new indicators. The refresh part in my profile didn't work but I refreshed on the SOL picture and refreshed the whole page. That worked.

Bob... You of ALL People!

YES! They will appear in the order of the number of votes they got! RTFM as they used to say at some of the help centers.

For the month of November, Bert Guerin's photo of the lighthouse at Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia, Canada will grace the masthead.

Thanks Bert!

Our heartfelt thanks to all for the great comments on the photo. Makes us feel real great to have been one of the chosen photos. A special thanks to Sharon for making sure that we went back to Peggy's Cove for the sunset.

"So Long" to Bert's beautiful photo of Peggy's Cove and "Hello" to Jim Gullo's equally nice photo of Sanibel Island Florida.

Thanks again to all the participants.

We're looking for images for Jan-Feb-Mar 2007 already.
