On Oct. 6th the Keepers will host Bill and start our fall fund raiser. This info is in the right forums but we will attempt to carry out a live web cast of this event and allow forum members take part in the event and auction.
I need to see if there is an interest in members tuning in. In other words I need a semi head count. No use to do this if no one watches.

I would be interested, but how does it work? Never seen anything like this before.

I have the picture part worked out, it is the sound that is the problem. I will post an ip address later this week where you will be able to tune in to the events of the night. I want the sound so you can hear Bill's talk "A String Attached...". If I can't get the sound I may tape it for later replay. We will have a large board with the bids set where you can see it and then submit your bids by email or telephone.

I would be interested in this broadcast too!
Just let me know what I need to do. I'll keep an eye out for the post when you are ready.
Great idea, especially for those of us who don't have the opportunity to travel to the events when Bill speaks.

We have the cameras and they work well. I will let you know the address for the broadcast when we have them. We are still having a problem with the sound which is more of a problem (more money). We went over the logistics today and even without sound it will be grand. The silent auction will really be silent eek We will have all kinds of stuff from Harbour Lights to Sabine Pass merchandise. We will have several framed photos one of Sabine Pass the other of Port Isabel at night (mine). eek

I have a test camera setup at 129.7.244.175 . The view is my office. To view this open netscape or explorer and type the above address in the location bar. You don't need www or anything else. The night of the event we will tie it to my website, I think. If you have a problem let me know.

Chuck,

I tried out the test cam and saw a man sitting at a desk. He had a beard and glasses. Was that you? If so, your cam is working at least at my place.

Nice looking lighthouse on your desktop, except that your ceiling light is reflected in the picture.

That was me at my desk and the desktop is a night shot of Port Isabel. A framed version of that will be part of the auction on Sunday. I must admit it is one of my favorites. We will also have framed photo of Sabine Pass up for auction. laugh

We have a number of cool stuff and the list will be in the fundraiser forum. laugh

I appreciate your efforts to allow the rest of us to participate in this event. I hope to be able to log on while I travel. I wish you much success, and thank you for your efforts to keep the flame burning bright.
