1. The price it might have because of the society piece the members were allowed to order?
Might have been more if Society members were not permitted to order.
2. The price that it will or might have against the other 2 reunion pieces?
Worth less than the New Point Lomas right away and in the long run.
3. Will the piece double or triple in price as soon as it leaves the reunion?
No - most of the small group of collectors who MUST have one of everything will be at the reunion.
4. Is there going to be a big demand for the piece since there is going to be very little change from the society piece being issued ....... ARE COLLECTORS GOING TO SAY ....... I HAVE THE SOCIETY PIECE AND THATS OK?
See #3 above.
New Point Loma CA, even at the current secondary price of $800-$950 will always outpace the REXA [(c) Tim Aucremann] (Rose Island Reunion Exclusive - Attendee). Because:
1. The 'skeleton' structure
2. It's 'first' status (first Reunion Event)
3. Ain't no others like it (no Society version)
Even though there may be fewer of the Rose Island REXA vs. NPL (estimated 750 vs. 960), the fact that perhaps 5-6,000 Society members ordered the Society version will satiate the demand.
With NPL, we saw the secondary price for NPL start out at $300-$400 at the Reunion and climb about $100 a week until it reached $1,200. Then it dropped back to the current $800-$950 level. As the second Reunion gets closer, the price should rise again.
A major difference between the REXA and NPL is that attendees could only purchase ONE REXA while in 1997, they could purchase TWO NPLs (all but a handful did order two). That meant 480 people held the 960 NPLs - a lot of 'Extras' for trading and selling. However the approx. 750 attending the 1998 Reunion will each have one - NOT an extra for trading and selling unless they pry one out of the spouse or kid's hands.
This 'disbursement' to individual collectors and lack of extras is one of the most influential factors in rising secondary prices.
The Rose Island Society version has it's own product number, so it's not a 'variation'.
My guess is the REXA will sell at 2 times the Society version which will probably be at about $150 in a year. And the interest will be primarily among collectors who found the line since May.
