I've got this circled on my calendar also. I plan on being there, unless there's a blizzard.

Sorry I can't join you all for this meeting. Sounds like lots of fun...the NorEaster will be long gone by that time. Enjoy Bill!

Just back from first meeting attended by 38 of who came out in ther snow to share each others company and meet Bill Younger.
Mini WACKO meeting was held amoung Dedo(Westchester), Carol Z(NJ), Ron Foster(Conn), Wildbird, Mike Seewald, and yours truly.
The lighthouse girl Noelle, and little Stevie(6 year old LH lovers) were in attendance.
Harbour lights provided keepsakes to all with Glows. society memberships or a Little Light to all who were in attendance.
BY gave a brief history of HL and then told us about all the restorations that they are participating in.
Bill was presented with the first Honorary Director of the Chapter and a "Save Plum Island" sweatshirt.
Thanks to all who made this meeting successful and Harbour Lights for their generousity.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for hosting a wonderful inaugural meeting of the Long Island chapter of the Lighthouse Society. I know you and Bob Mueller have spent a lot of personal time getting this chapter off the ground.

It was great listening to Bill gave the background on the HL history and the tie-in with lighthouse preservation. Second time I've had the pleasure of meeting him. Always tied in with a LI event.

The chance to meet more Wackos was fun too! Now I've met all three of the LI lighthouse guys. Also Carol, who traveled twice as long as I did to attend and Ron who spent 1 1/2 hrs. on the ferry alone to reach the meeting. A bunch of dedicated lighthouse people!

I'm looking forward to finally seeing/visiting some of the other LI lights in the upcoming events as a member of the chapter.

I also had a great time at the meeting on Sunday. I drove over 2.5 hours to get there (with a side trip to visit with my nephews in Massapequa). But it was well worth the trip.
Since the walkway to the LH was covered with ice and snow, and I didn't want to chance falling and destroying my lighthouses, I decided to leave my LH in the car. When Bill heard that I had LHs to sign, he agreed to come out to my car and sign them for me. It was great! I still can't believe he went through all that trouble. And there we stood, in slush and puddles, while he signed my Christmas collection. He even gave me directions to the Staten Island LH so I could stop on my way home. You can tell this is his passion, not just a business.
It was also great meeting some of the other Wackos there. I found out that I'm not as bad as Donna with respsct to buying many LHs in a short period of time. I think she has the sickness worse than me. (Although my husband still thinks I'm insane)

Thank you to USLHS Long Island Chapter for hosting Bill and to all those who attended this wonderful event on Sunday at Fire Island Lighthouse. I enjoyed being with all of you lighthouse lovers & friends. My only regret was that MJ was unable to make it.

I look forward to attending some of the wonderful upcoming events that this chapter is planning as well as helping to raise the necessary funds to rescue & restore Plum Island Light.
