First of all, I again want to thank all you you who helped us in any way this year with the restoration project of the Pottawatomie Lighthouse. Work day volunteers, Raffle purchases & fund raising proceeds. The Harbour Lights Collectors Club - Great Lakes District attended for the second year the Great Lakes Lighthouse Festival in Alpena, MI. This year the club received a check for the Pottawatomie Lighthouse from the Sharing Program in the amount of $2,185.17

Special thanks to Tim Harrison and the American Lighthouse Foundation for their Donation/Gift to the GLLF, which also helped the Pottawatomie Lighthouse

Our club will present the check to Tim Sweet, President of The Friends Of Rock Island at our next meeting. The next meeting will be in January on a date yet to be determined.
Thank you everyone for helping in 2000.
Jim Johnston

Jim,
How about filling us in a little on the Sharing Program? Sounds like it has benefitted Pottawatomie Light.

Thanks for the info Jim. This really highlights the good things that come from people with a common interest working together for the common cause. You and all your members are to be congratulated for your very active participation. The same goes for those other lovers of lighthouses and their groups who were in attendance.

I didn't want to wait until the next club meeting to give the check to Tim Sweet, president of Friends Of Rock Island, so I met him at the Pharos restrauant in Fond du Lac, WI where I presented him with the check. We will also do it again at the next meeting. I just wanted the check to get FORI before anything happened to it. We had a nice breakfast and discussed the upcoming restoration of the Pottawatomie Lighthouse for the new year. People in the restrauant thought I was part of Publisher's Clearing House Prize Patrol.
