Just a quick update on our event.

A slight change to the speaking schedule:
Bill speak at 1 p.m., Paul will follow with a brief editoral on the status of Southeast Block Island Light and then Jim Mahanes will speak.
The show will still begin at 10 a.m. and run until at least 5 p.m. or even 7 p.m. (kind of depends on the turnout). Bill and Paul will be leaving at 3 p.m.
There will be great HL giveaways (Limited Editions, GLOWS, and Little Lights) starting at 10 a.m. thru 3 p.m.
Derby City Lights will be presenting Lighthouse enthusiasts an opportunity to donate (at the rate of 1 donation for $1.00 or 6 for $5.00) for a HL 10th Anniversary piece "Eddystone". The donations will benefit a Northern Light and the drawing will actually take place later this year (you do not need to be present at the drawing).
Hope to see some new faces at our event.

A few images from the Derby City Art Show today..
A great time was had by all.....

The Derby City Club had drawings for lighthouses, membership forms, Wacko pin forms and other items of interest at their welcoming table.

Bill did his usual great job of showcasing the importance of lighthouse restoration and the history of Harbour Lights. The Hannums (Dave, Susan, Heather--Hoosier Lighthousing Clubers) were in the front row.

Watercolorist Jim Mahanes is listening intently to Bill give his presentation about lighthouse restoration. Mahanes art is hanging on the walls in all of these images, just click on his name to get to the link to his web page.

The Block Island's Southeast Lighthouse picture is located just to the left of the plant hanging in the window. The Artist Proof print of this fantastic watercolor now is hanging on the walls at The Midwest Harbour Lights Museum in Indy....

Watercolorist Jim Mahanes is selling one of his prints and some of his cards...

Outside image of the Meeting House...for the Exhibit of Lighthouse Art, Habour Lights with Bill Younger, and the restoration presentation about Block Island's Southeast Lighthouse....

Great job of putting this event on by Pat and all of the Derby City Club....

That is the Watercolorist Jim Mahanes who does really very nice watercolors, Bob. Jim said he is going to be on Block Island twice in the upcoming summer. As I added in the captions above Bob, we now have an Artist proof print of Block Island's Southeast Lighthouse hanging on our walls and I am thinking about getting a print of the North Block Lighthouse watercoloring that Jim has done for a companion print.

Thanks to all who came to our event. I think everyone had a good time, I know I did.
A special THANKS to Paul Brady for his wonderful presentation on Block Islands Southeast Light. I think it surprised a lot of people at the true condition of the light. And, Paul, thanks for these great photos from the event. It was nice of you to post them.
