Could anyone tell me what the large
red cannister is on the left front?
It looks out of place but probably isn't
that close in real life. In the meantime,
maybe I should pull up a picture of it
to figure it out. Thanks!

Actually Bud it was used for fuel storage. There is another similar structure, not depicted on the HL sculpture, to the rear (lake side) of the lighthouse that houses a well and pump. You can see that one in the bottom left picture here: http://www.rudyalicelighthouse.net/OntLts/ThirtyMi/ThirtyMi.htm When we visited in October of 2000 they had both been painted black.
