Digger digging in....

Dave surveying the troops...

Food tables were set up on the North side of the building and battened down from the nice breeze that was blowing...

Great turnout of Club members, Docents and Board members of the historical society..

Dave & Kate Hemming snd Shellie & Harold Breen sharing lighthousing tales with the now blooming day lilies in the background...

Docents and Board members going through the food line... still plenty left for them even after the Wacko's had gone through the line.

Future of the Hoosier lighthousing Club and Cole's grand-kids!

I had a presentation of the Spring Cleaning going in one of the rooms of the museum/lighthouse for members to see.. plus Sue selling opportunity drawing tickets.

Members enjoying(I hope) presentation except maybe for Karen who appears to be dreaming about maybe winning the Stonington lighthouse in the upcoming door prize drawing...

Who would have thought that? (LOL)

Looks like a great bunch with great weather!

Looks like a nice crowd enjoying good food and great weather. What more could you ask? Neat idea with the plastic sandpails!
Yes, made me hungry too. Time to hit the fridge for some lunch!

Looks like a good time was had by all. Lots of Wackos in those shots. Good work, Paul. Glad you all had a beautiful day to enjoy each other and the lighthouse.

It was a beautiful day to spend with some great people. The place looks fantastic and it was nice to know that the people in attendance were responsible for making it look that way.

The Cole's Grand-kids were at the picnic accompanied by their parents.. their daughter & son-in-law since it was a perfect opportunity for us to talk about the future plans for the spiral staircase... their son-in-law is in the construction industry and has volunteered to be the driving force behind the installation and needed construction surrounding the project... along with Doyne Cole.

We were in Michigan City, Indiana at 6:26 A.M. on Sunday (the 16th), and we didn't see any WACKOS....(on our way back from the weekend in Chicago)...

At Michigan Speedway, Brooklyn, Michigan:

We DID see #24 Jeff Gordon (from the main grandstand/start finish line area, when all of the drivers were introduced, and got into their own personalized black Camaro convertible for a parade lap around the 2 mile oval track).

So that MUST be our Digger...at Old Michigan City lighthouse!

P.S. DARN...LATE AGAIN....but had to do HIS thing in Chicago last weekend....and MY thing in Chicago NEXT WEEKEND!! HOORAY!!!

Well Randy, my Jeff was with me at Michigan City on Saturday....by the way where were you, Karen and Andy?

As for the other Mary....late again for the picnic. We had great seats for the race on Sunday....at home in the recliners.

John and Karen...glad you had a great time at South Haven. Jeff said we had to stay home and do the chores we didn't do on Saturday because we were at the picnic.

Paul, Thanks for posting the pictures. Roy and I had a great time. It was great to see everyone again. Thanks to a tip from John Tamlin we extended our weekend fun with a side trip up to South Haven on Sunday with Shellie and Harold Breen. Hi guys We had some beautiful weather, although a bit breezy and somewhat chilly while waiting in line to climb the lighthouse. We ran into John and Karen, what a suprise
We are really looking forward the trip to Door County and to seeing everyone again in Chicago.

So, that could be Jeff Gordon?!? (LOL)

Mary, we would have liked to have been there, but had to do the Father's Day thing on Sat.(hers) and Sun.(mine) Hopefully next time!

I would really have liked helping out on cleanup weekend, but that wasn't possible either! Maybe next year!

If I'm the GREAT Jeff Gordon then they better make that entry window a tad bigger! Might be a tight fit.

Hey Randy, the Chicago style hotdog(s) were great!!!

For you Digger, I mean Jeff, they might just open the whole door and weld it shut after you get in! (LOL)

Thank goodness you left "Brooke" at home, Digger!
She was always fun to watch "do nothing" at the race track..

I think most guys would agree she is fun to watch!

What is she suppose to do Mary? Put on a cheerleading outfit and jump up and down and cheer for Jeff?!? (LOL)

That might be fun to watch also!

Randy,

She always sat in her princess chair looking bored. Then Jeff would win, and she would clap for him and shine her winning smile, and once he stated, "now Brooke can accessorize..a little more".

Some of the other drivers wives, would be in the pits with their hubby's sponsor's gear on, keeping track time, score sheets, etc....
being a part of the team!

With Jeff going thru divorce proceedings now, and Brooke wanting "everything", he has been quoted as saying, "heck, I am the one that went to work, drove in dangerous situations, and she wants what?"...but now she wants the $10 million home in Florida....go figure...

You know how they met don't you? She was a Miss Winston. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that. If I were rich and single, and Miss Winston took a liking to me, I'd probably do the same thing Jeff did. She just always seemed to be a little too prissy to be involved in racing. Money aside, that is. He's better off without her. And so are the rest of us.

Isn't it amazing how the subject matter will change from the original subject!

Isn't that way it always is? The guy does all the work, earns the money, and she wants it all?!?! (JUST KIDDING!)

At least in Gordon's case, it looks that way!
