I heartily agree! These lights are right here in my "back yard", and I love visiting them and revisiting them over again. They did a great job with this article.

Thanks for the link, Jim. It gives new meaning to those pieces I have in my collection. It was nice that the paper published the article drawing attention to these historic treasures.

Missed this post first time around. Thanks, Jim. Brings back memories of our Oregon trip in 1996. Realized reading the article how mwny we did not climb. Only Heceta Head & Yaquina Bay saw us inside. Cape Meares, Yaquina Head & Umpqua River we hit at off hours.

Of course this was in the days before I became Wacko. The lighthouses were a part of our trip to visit as much of Oregon as we could in a week. I wouldn't miss those towers or the others that we didn't see if I had a second trip out to the NW!! But still some very special memories for the whole family.
