Help! Is there a lighthouse near the Galapagos Islands?

My boss went on vacation to the Galapagos and he said he took a very special photograph for me. He had to climb down about 300 rock-steps to take the picture. If it's of a lighthouse, I'd like to be able to have the information on it so I can tell him about it (and pretend that I know what I'm talking about!).

Does anyone have any ideas?

Joanne

Sorry I can't help you on this one. Sounds like something for Mombo.

Sorry Joanne, I couldn't come up with anything. Searched in both English and Spanish for Galapados Islands and Ecquador. Couldn't find any faro but maybe they're there just not on the web!

You can find a lot on the Galapagos Islands, but nothing I found spoke of a lighthouse. Big place for tourists, lots of info on touring, diving, birding and so on. Looked at a lot of the pictures but saw no lighthouse. Guess it will truly be a surprise.

Not much luck here either

I was only able to find one remote mention of a lighthouse on a page abourt visiting by private boat. It mentioned that there was a fee for the maintenance of navigational aids, bouys and lighthouses. No pictures though. Not even sure if the lighthouses refered to are in the Galapagos Islands.
Nothing on any of the maps I pulled up either. Sorry Joanne. Will keep looking.

So did you ever get your picture?

Was it of a lighthouse?

Yes, I did get my picture and in a nice mat and frame. There is a lighthouse in the Galapagos Island, although, it's not a very pretty one. It's called Farolete Bartolome. It's not very big and and it appears to have a big lightbulb that is solar powered.

The photo is digital so I will ask him if I can have it so I can post it here.
