Mike Seewald was gracious to provide a scan of the Old Field Point NY Constable's patch.

How about other city police & fire departments that feature a lighthouse? If you live in or near a town that has one, see if you can obtain one to scan and return.

If so, either mail to me (PO Box 4742, Scottsdale, AZ 85261-4742) or email a full size scan @ 150 dpi.

John

From previous travels, I know that the cities of Mukilteo WA, Port Huron MI, St. Augustine FL (I Think), and Fernandina Beach FL (Amelia Island) have logos that feature their lighthouse.

St. Augustine and Ponce Inlet, Fl Police have a Lighthouse on their respective patrol cars. I haven't seen any on the uniform.

There are collectors who collect nothing but patches, including lighthouse patches. There are always a few lighthouse patches on eBay for sale. Some fetch a very nice price. I know because a couple of people have some of my money now.

Pretty sly John, what a way to build your collection of patches! Are you sure I can't scan those for you?

Scan 'em, Paul-o. I'm looking for a virtual collection, not the real thing. All my space is taken up with something called "Harbour Lights". Believe you've heard of them.

John -

Off the top of my head I know Bandon, OR; Buffalo, NY; Rockport, MA; Cohasset, MA; Virginia Beach, VA; Chatham, MA all portray a lighthouse on their patch. I will send you what I have so you can scan them in.

While visiting the Sanibel Island, FL lighthouse over the weekend I noticed that the police did have the patch of the lighthouse, as well as the emblem on their vehicles.

Hey Gary,

That is quite a collection of patches!!

I would love to see them as much as John.

I'm sure there are other collectors out there who would love to know how you obtained all of them, myself included.

Just back from 2 weeks of lighthousing!

Want to add a Parks & Recreation Dept?? The Bristol, Maine one has a lighthouse on its patch (they are where Pemaquid Point LH is).

Town of York, Maine PD has a LH on its patch.

Don't forget the fire departments...

Both Virginia Beach and Ponce Inlet FD's have lighthouses on their patches.

Patches and postcards sprinkled among your lighthouse collection make a nice addition to your display.

My daughter thought I was nuts when I turned into the Hatteras Fire Station in the rain saying "I need to get a picture of this for Todd and the HL forum..."

The Boy Scouts of America in Mobile Alabama have just redesigned thier local Chapter Logo. It now has the Middle Bay Lighthouse on it.

I have mailed one of the patches to John asking him to please scan and post for me.

John

Have you recieved the patch yet? confused I see now that I may have sent it to the wrong address. I mailed it to a street address that I had on file for you, not the PO Box. I have my fingers crossed that you get it. I can't even tell you what address I mailed it to right now, because I am not at my own computer. Mine is packed in the car awaiting my trip to FL tomarrow.

I just noticed that this thread may be the longest running (current thread) at 4 years and 3 months old, of course if we dredge up the memory of Bob again.....

Nice patch! Reminds me that I have one from the Chesapeake Bay area Boyscouts floating around my apartment somewhere.
