In the regular pipeline for approval in a few weeks in the fiscal year 2009 budget is an estimated $3 million for the restoration of the Bodie Island Lighthouse. $100,000 has already been approved to restore the 1st Fresnel. Logically, the work on the lens and the tower need to be done at the same time.

The tower restoration request was yanked from the federal budget at the last minute last year.

The NPS seems confident that it will get approved this year. Watching...
