Just a few quick notes on Crisp Point & Fort Gratiot:
Crisp Point: The road leading to the 96 year old light has been improved, aiding in the transport of materials to the site. Nellie Ross, President of the Crisp Point Light Historical Society, states that this will help complete the restoration of this lighthouse.
Luce County Rd 412 has had a quarter mile, preveiously closed, re-opened and has been extended another quarter mile to the shoreline. The right of way has also been widened by removing trees and stumps. Tons of gravel have been used in this project to date.
Fort Gratiot: The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Bramble is on station at Fort Gratiot, performing routine maintenence and painting of the lighthouse. Should be all spiffed up for the next time John or Rich stop by for a visit.
