I also have gotten my LH Digest. And yest the photo contest winners are in there as well as diggers painting on the cover.

Recieved mine yesterday also. Nice to be associated with a famous artist! Congratulations Digger!

Received my copies today. It was a VERY emotional moment for us when we opened the box and saw the cover. In my wildest dreams I never thought I would ever see one of my paintings on the cover of a magazine. It is very hard to put into words how I feel, I guess "shock" is the best way to describe how my life has changed in the past few months.

It is amazing to see the powerful effect lighthouses have on people. Especially in a landlocked rural location where corn fields and Amish buggies rule and from people that have never gave them a second glance. After an interview last week a local reporter just wanted to stay and talk about lighthouses and I think she looked through every book I own on the subject. She even asked me where she could buy her first HL but was a little dissapointed to find out that Cleveland wasn't available from HL's. Could be another future Wacko! Suddenly lighthouses are the talk of the town and the reponse has been amazing. I was even approached by 2 people who had never seen a lighthouse in person wanting information on how to donate to lighthouse preservation. Cows and corn move over, the lighthouses have ARRIVED!!!

I can't begin the express how grateful I am to HL's, John and everyone here on the forum. This would have never happened if it weren't for your kind words, inspiration and support. I will NEVER forget what you have all done for me!!

Now all I need to do is get a couple of clones so that I keep up with these deadlines.

I am still waiting for my Lighthouse Digest to arrive in Utah. I now know how many of you feel waiting for the new Lighthouse Legacy to arrive on the east coast.

Digger, you certainly deserve all the praise you have received.

When our Lighthouse Digest arrived at our house the first words to my husband were: Look it's Digger painting of the Cleveland Lighthouse!!!!!!!

It makes a wonderful cover and it was great to see it on the forums before it made the cover of the magazine.

Sure wish there was a way to get prints of your paintings.

Well John it happened real fast! I noticed the old photo of the lighthouse in the book "Lost Lighthouses" by Tim Harrison and Ray Jones. One look at the photo and I knew that it was my next painting. I emailed Tim Harrison for permission to reproduce the image, and after receiving approval started painting that same day. When I was finished, I emailed Mr. Harrison a photo of the completed painting. That is when I discovered he was also the editor of Lighthouse Digest when he replied asking if he could put it on the April Cover.

I would like to keep in touch with Mr. Harrison and see if there is any way we can possibly put together a calendar of paintings of "Lost Lights" from his book. I think it would make a "Super" calendar and a nice companion to the book.

The original painting of Cleveland Light will be on display in Chicago and after the show will be turned over to the new owner. I did have all the photo work done and have the 4x5" transparencies of the painting and I hope that I can figure out a way to have prints made. Hint, hint..... Paul......hint.

Digger I can't wait to see the painting you did of my hometown lighthouse. I have yet to recieve my Lighthouse Digest. It would have been my choice of lighthouses for HL to produce. Two thumbs up to you and Cleveland.

Hey Brenda, ... Either I'm suffering from a brain cramp or your mail delivery is really, really slow. This thread was started almost a year ago. Digger's work was displayed on the cover of the April 2001 edition.
