Thanks, Judy. Let's cross our fingers that this comes out OK...Bodie wouldn't look good with an aerobeacon.

Keep your hands off that lens you, dirty stinking APES!!! Wonder what movie I was watching over the week end? Gotta agree with Greg, Bodie will lose a lot of her charm with out that jewel of a first order in her crown! What’s next? Do they plan to take the one out of Currituck also? If the Park Service can stabilize and repair the lens in place, why chance damaging or destorying it by removing it?

The view of Bodie Island Lens at night when on the lighthouse grounds is among the best. Little in the way of trees etc. to block while looking up, and what a sight to see. As the article says not many of these left in the original designated lighthouse.I hope it stays put. I Would hate to see this one at ground level in some off site museum with a plaque that tells you were it should be. Keep the Bodie Light at home!

I agree with all the comments said so far and can't think of anyuthing to improve on them. That lens should remain right where its at. Hope to get to see it some day and not in a museum, but right up in the tower at Bodie where it belongs. Bert
