I'm trying to identify 'Official' web sites for lighthouses and need some advice.

I'm definining an official website as one that is:

1. Operated by the owner of the lighthouse
2. Operated by the lease holder operating the lighthouse
3. Operated by a non-profit seeking to save or take ownership
4. Operated by a non-profit lighthouse preservation organization
5. Operated by a government entity such as USCG, NPS, state, county or city

For example, the NPS Maritime History pages have information on most lighthouses. They would be a 'last resort' listing (#5 above).

The National Park Service owns and operates Cape Hatteras so the official web site is the Cape Hatteras National Seashore one (#1).

I guess the USCG owns a lighthouse such as Ship John Shoal at this point. Do they have a sepearate web site for this lighthouse? Or should I look to the Chesapeake Chapter USLHS's web site (#4 above -- or are they a #3 above)?

Are there other 'levels' to consider? Is this the right 'order' to consider? Is this a good strategy?
