On September 18th the tower will be open for climbing. You need tickets! Wish I could go. News Article Amazing what you find on Facebook.

Saturday, September 18, 2010 is the second annual Open Lighthouse Day in Maine. In addition to Portland Head, there are 24 other lighthouses participating, with some others also available for climbing. Wish I could go too!!! Was there last September, but tower was not open for climbing on that day. I think it might have been opened two weeks prior to my visit. 8-(
