Thanks to the huge efforts of the Park Service and the people of the Outer Banks, we are now able to return to our original celebration! Though somewhat modified, we can now have a full celebration to honor 200 years of light at Cape Hatteras, and you are invited to be there for a wonderful memorable historical weekend. If you are planning to attend, the new schedule is below. You'll find most of the changes in the daytime activities for Sat. the 18th.

We thank everyone for their understanding of our scheduling problems due to Hurricane Isabel. If you are still on the fence, please join us. This is a once in a lifetime event! There's still time to register and there are rooms available.
A full program for The Keeper's Weekend, Celebrating 200 Years of Light at Cape HatterasOctober 17th & 18th is back!

I assume this means the bus trip and box lunch is off then? And we'll need to find our own way from Nag's Head to Cape Hatteras?

Who amongst us is going to be there? I'd like to hook up with some of the Forumites while there and carpool around the OBX.

Anyone need inexpensive lodging for the Hatteras event? The 1 bedroom oceanfront condo I had reserved was wiped out by Isabel and I have been relocated to a 3-bedroom, 2.5 bath townhouse 1 block back from the beach, at MileMarker 11.5 in Nags Head. I have it for a full week Sun the 12th thru Sun am the 19th, and so far only my daughter MAY join me for the 17th/18th weekend. You can see the unit at Prudential Resort Realty
Be glad to sub-let two bedrooms for any number of nights and have some company! My math on the prepaid rent shows that a bedroom/bath would be $33 total per night ....can't do that at a hotel/motel! No taxes, either!

Please email me offline (sandy@clunies.net) if you are interested!
