This article (from Roland's Lighthouse News) says that the fresnel will be removed for restoration. Does anyone know if it will be replaced and put back in use?

Well after the stink that was raised back in 03 after coast Guard stated they wanted to remove the lens. I doubt it will be left out of the tower. This is the reason the light is no longer an active aid. It is now a private aid to navigation and the park service owns the lens.

I can't find the article now, but the last plans I saw were for the lens to be removed and restored while the tower was restored and then placed back into the lantern.

Thanks. I certainly want to be able to see that fresnel lit again.
