What a shame. The potential for damage to this light will be significantly increased without a full time curator to keep an eye on things. After so many years of inadequate care, and then getting the restoration done and the light opened to the public this happens . . .

Good news for her and the light. Bad news for the other museum curator mentioned. Scary that the city could transfer a more senior employee with absolutely no museum knowledge or experience to be the curator of a museum. Seems less than bright to me.

That is sad.Maybe their loss will be some other lighthouse's gain, I hope. We were there and she knows everything about that lighthouse, and the area. She gave us a tour and it was very good. That lighthouse deserves the best because of it's location and the other lighthouses in the area.

Did the curator give you a tour, or Martha McKenzie, who had relatives who were lightkeepers at Fermin.

Pixie, this has been about 3 yrs ago and I didn't take notes or journal. My memories tell me it was the curator, but it could have been someone else.
