The weather sure looks good in your pictures. You must have evaded the rain quite well. wink

Looks like you lucked out on the rain. Today seems to have turned out beautiful.

I was up at Concord Point this morning for about an hour. The closest I came to seeing anyone from here was Shirin's name in the guest book. They said that they had about 500 people come through yesterday, including 180 between 10am and noon. They also said that shuttle buses were getting stuck up at Turkey Point.

Thanks, Dave. Looks like Point Lookout has a new paint scheme!

Started with an overcast morning today (Sunday) in downtown Baltimore. Skies did pretty up later, but also became very warm and humid. Using 2 Jeeps to shuttle those that needed it at Turkey Point. We walked in, despite the 1000% humidity. Given Larry and Dan's description of yesterday you would not believe you were on the same trail today. Damp and a little muddy in places, but probably as good condition as Mombo's driveway. Here are a few pics:

We finished the Challenge about 1 PM, and Dan (Elmer) reported they finished about 4:30. Didn't see Shirin today.

Great photos Dave! I finished up around 1:30 PM yesterday at Turkey Point. It was great to see so many friends from the Chesapeake Chapter and the Forums and to make many new ones! I did the challenge with my best friend Shannon and her mother. They kind of got a laugh each time we would be at a lighthouse and I knew someone there. We probally could have finished earlier if I didn't keep stopping to chat all the time! It was also nice to finally meet Kim Andrews.

Thanks to Dave & Shirin for their beautiful photos!

What a great weekend...even the weather pretty much cooperated! We also finished up around 1:30 Sunday and then headed back to Richmond.

It was wonderful running into familiar faces at all the stations and chatting. Kept expecting to see Shirin but never did.

I want to congratulate the Chesapeake Chapter on their first Challenge. You did good, guys! Thank you. laugh

Judy:)

I kept looking for you Judy! It seemed that those whom I was looking for I never ran across and those I didn't expect to see where all around. Guess we'll just have to catch up on the Outer Banks!

Indeed we will, Shirin! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone, and meeting many folks for the first time in person...those I've gotten to know on-line.

That was a big part of the fun of the Maryland Challenge. I'll miss the NJ challenge this year because of the Hatteras event, but will go again next year.

Will you get in early enough to make the Friday night party at the Lighthouse Gallery?

I was "Crew Chief" at Hooper Strait for the Maryland Challenge Weekend, and we welcomed almost 700 people there ... 230 of them in one 2-hour period 4-6 pm on Saturday! Many made that their "stop place" for Saturday as it was midway down the map! Our record for "longest distance visitors" was a couple from Cucamonga, CA who flew in just for the Challenge weekend.
I've never uploaded pics here before - and don't see directions. But when someone tells me HOW - you'll see: 1) 3 generation family from NY, and 2) a couple from Atlanta GA who flew up just to celebrate the gal's 30th birthday with the Challenge and 3) volunteer Bill Simms and me at the end of two tiring but fun days and 4)Our first "finishers" from New Holland, PA at 8 am on Sunday.
