I don't think it has been closed recently. I think this is just a ceremonial thing because the restoration is final COMPLETE!

I've not heard that the lighthouse was closed either. Since they've rebuilt the keeper's quarters I have visited so I think you are right Larry, now that they have everything completed including the grounds this is just ceremonial. In either case it is great to hear. The site is so much better than the first time I visited pre the 2nd rebuilding of the keeper's quarters.
