We saw them working when we passed by last weekend during the Saturday cruise! Would be a nice place to sit and watch the fireworks, or the boats go by. cool

Great article, thanks Judy.
It's even more interesting now that we have seen it being worked on.

And to think we were harassing those hard working family members thinking they didn't have any business on that lighthouse!

Guess we blew our invitation back anytime soon.

We did ask if they'd like some help...that should have earned us a few brownie points.

Wonder if they are related to any of us.

Some of use asked for the owner to make an appearance and when she did at the window we applauded.. We had figured out that they were cleaning the lighthouse with the equipment they had in hand..

Does any one know if the french doors are historical correct? Or perhaps temporary? (Letting light in to work on the inside).

hi, We are the owners of Middle Ground Light. I will try to keep you posted on our renovation. All work has been pre-approved by the Historic Preservation Board. The inside is about 80% complete. The new galley will be here Aug 15th. The heart pine floors are being refinished this week. The outside will be completed by the end of next summer. It's more work than we anticipated, but we have never regretted buying it for one minute. The kid's love it. Bob

Wonderful! We would love to hear the progress reports! And WELCOME to the Forums! There were a few of us waving to your family as we went by your light on our tour boat June 24th.

Wow, I bet that feels great to say " My light"!!!!!

Bob,
It was terrific to see your family working on the light, when our tour boat viewed Middle Ground June 24th. As lighthouse lovers we would love to hear all the trials and tribulations, as well as the joys, involved in the restoration.
Good to have you aboard the forum! And thanks for your warm invitation to let us visit if we are passing (weather permitting.)

It was very inspirational seeing your family working on the Lighthouse! It's wonderful to hear that it is a family 'labor of love' which also secures it continued maintenance through future generations.
Let us know if there is anything we can do? We are very lighthouse friendly as you can see.
Bob wink
